Teachers' Day

In 2026: Fri, May 15Not a public holiday

Where it comes from

Set on May 15, King Sejong's birthday, to honor teachers. It isn't a public holiday.

What people do

Students thank teachers with letters and songs. Under the anti-graft law, teachers can't accept gifts — only a class representative may present a carnation.
