How to write Liv in Korean
리브
- 리ri
- 브beu
2 syllables · Spelled by the National Institute of Korean Language's rules for foreign names.
Why it sounds a little different
- Korean doesn't stack consonants, so a short “eu” (ㅡ) slips in — that's where 브 comes from.
- No V either — it becomes ㅂ (b).
- R and L share one letter, ㄹ — Korean doesn't tell them apart.
Say it in Korean
제 이름은 리브예요.
Je ireumeun ribeu-yeyo. — My name is Liv.
To be polite, Koreans add 씨 (ssi) after a name: 리브 씨.
