Hangul Wordle

Guess the two-syllable Korean word, letter by letter, in six tries.

Today's board

How to play

Guess a common two-syllable Korean noun in six tries. Every syllable splits into three boxes: the first consonant, the vowel and the final consonant. An empty final counts as a box too.

After each guess the boxes change color. Green means the right letter in the right box. Yellow means the letter is in the word but in another box. Grey means it isn't in the word at all.

Type with the Hangul keyboard on screen or a real keyboard in the two-set layout. Letters join into syllables as you type: ㅅ ㅏ ㄱ ㅗ ㅏ becomes 사과. Turn on romanization if you're still learning the letters.

Tips & strategy

  • Start with a word full of common letters, like 사랑 or 마음. ㅏ, ㅇ, ㅁ and ㄹ show up in a lot of words.
  • Remember the empty final box. If it turns green, that syllable has no final consonant.
  • A double vowel like ㅘ is its own letter: a plain ㅗ stays grey even if the answer has ㅘ. If the plain vowels keep coming up grey, try ㅘ, ㅝ or ㅢ.
  • Use grey letters as a filter: every new guess should test at least two letters you haven't seen yet.
