Which Korean Flower Are You?
Mugunghwa, cherry blossom or lotus? Seven scenes, one flower and its season.
Korea's year is marked by flowers: plum blossoms in the late-winter cold, cherry blossoms and forsythia in spring, lotus ponds in summer, chrysanthemums and cosmos in autumn, camellias in winter. This quiz asks seven everyday questions and picks the Korean flower that matches your personality. Each flower has its own page on what it means in Korea and when and where it blooms.
The eight Korean flowers
- Mugunghwa무궁화Rose of Sharon — Korea's national flower, blooming every day.
- Plum Blossom매화First flower of the year, blooming in the cold.
- Cherry Blossom벚꽃A week of glory and a street full of petals.
- Forsythia개나리Bright yellow hedges that announce spring.
- Camellia동백Red flowers in the dead of winter.
- Lotus연꽃Rises clean from the mud — calm and clear.
- Chrysanthemum국화The late bloomer that braves the frost.
- Cosmos코스모스Swaying roadside flowers of autumn.
How does the Korean flower quiz decide?
Each of the seven questions has four answers, and each answer gives points to two of the eight flowers — two points to the one it fits best, one to a close neighbor. The flower with the most points wins; a tie is settled by your answer string, so the same answers always give the same flower.
This is a personality quiz, not a birth-flower calendar — for the flower of your birthday, see the birth flower page. Bloom times are typical for South Korea and shift with the weather each year.
