5-Second Quiz: K-Pop

Ten K-pop questions, five seconds each. Rookie, fan, stan or expert?

10 questions · 5 seconds each · 3 easy, 4 medium, 3 hard

Faster right answers score more. Running out of time counts as wrong.

This quiz sticks to the parts of K-pop that don't change: debut years and debut songs, the first Korean acts to top charts abroad, official fandom names and the words fans use every day. Every answer was checked against an official source — the label's own profile, the chart that published the record, or the National Institute of Korean Language dictionary — and the source sits next to the answer when you finish.

Each round draws 10 of the 40 questions: three easy, four medium, three hard, in that order. The wrong options are always the same kind of thing — another song by the same group, a year next door, a fandom name from the same generation — so a gut guess is a real gamble.

Grades

  1. 0–39 ptsRookie — You know the hits. The deep cuts are still waiting for you.
  2. 40–59 ptsFan — Real fan instincts — a few years and debut songs got in the way.
  3. 60–79 ptsStan — Stan level. You only hesitated where the questions got mean.
  4. 80–100 ptsExpert — Expert. Debut dates and chart firsts come out before the timer does.

How scoring works

A right answer is worth 1 point plus up to 0.5 for speed — the more of the 5 seconds you have left, the bigger the bonus. Wrong answers and timeouts score nothing. The total is scaled to 100.

Ten right answers at about 2.5 seconds each lands just above 80 — the top grade. Nine right needs real speed to get there.

“Top %” is an estimate, not a leaderboard. It models players of different skill answering easy, medium and hard questions (about 76%, 54% and 33% right overall) in 1 to 5 seconds, and shows the share who would score at least as high as you. No one's results are stored.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be a stan to score well?

No. The easy questions cover songs and words most people have heard at least once. The stan and expert grades come from the hard third — exact years, debut tracks, firsts — and from answering fast.

Why are there no questions about current members or the latest records?

Those change. A question that was right in spring can be wrong by autumn, so this quiz only asks about things already fixed in time: debuts, firsts and official names.

Can my friends get the same K-pop questions?

Yes. Share your result and they can open the same 10 questions in the same order. The answers stay hidden on a shared result, so it never spoils their round.
